To highlight and motivate our students as good citizens, major events are celebrated with distinguished dignitaries as the chief guest. This enables the students understand the society and learn to be successful in all walks of life.

To this end, Independence Day, Republic Day, Tiny-Tots Day, Grading Day, Lighting Ceremony, Teachers Day, Children’s Day, Sports Day and Religious festivals etc., are celebrated with the traditional customs and rituals.

Investiture Ceremony

Investiture Ceremony is not just about providing titles, but about conferring responsibilities to the students, to take charge of the school and take it to the height they desire with their leadership and decision making skills, communication and teamwork. Every year Investiture ceremony was conducted with the high degree of earnestness and passion. The Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities. We believe that the child centric approach will frame a responsible citizen.

The Investiture Ceremony of Vasavi Vidyalaya for the academic session 2022-2023 was held with lots of zeal and zest. The event was presided over by the school Management. At this ceremony, a school student council board is formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection which gives them a feel of functioning of an official administrative body. The selected students are honoured with their respective badges and the student council members take an oath to faithfully work for the school.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

On August 15, 1947, India got her freedom and finally broke from the shackles of slavery. Our school celebrated this auspicious day with great enthusiasm and prunes on 15th August every year to cultivate the spirit of freedom, integrity and fraternity. Every student contributed towards its preparations and the celebration began with marching by house captains of all four houses. Board Exam Toppers are given Gold coin, Cash awards and shields for 100% attendance.

TEACHERS’ DAY

“A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart”

To commemorate the birth of the second President of India
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, 5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable.

Teachers look forward to celebrate this occasion no less than the students. It is a day for every student to honour his/her teachers and acknowledge them for all that they have learned in life. Their efforts need to be recognized as they too need encouragement and accreditation for shaping up the future of every individual. Every year Teacher’s day is celebrated with incredible gusto and zeal. Teachers will be entertained with different games. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. The teachers are honoured.

CHILDREN’S DAY

“Out of many things that money cannot buy, the spirit of childhood ranks topmost.”

To encourage the spirit of children, their endeavour and their hidden talents , Children’s Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. Many competitions are being conducted for the students and prize winners are encouraged with prizes and certificates.

REPUBLIC & SPORTS DAY

“No education can be complete without sports”

Sports and games receive due importance in our institution. Students are given with precious opportunities. They reveal their talents by their victories! To inculcate the spirit of freedom, Republic Day is also being celebrated in a grand manner.

Our Sports Day celebration provides a great platform to the students to showcase the spirit of sportsmanship. The day starts with lighting the Olympic torch. Best sportsperson is recognised with Gold & Silver Coins. Prize distribution ceremony is also hosted for all the participants and winners which motivates them to continue proving their mettle in this field..

LIGHTING CEREMONY

A special prayer service is conducted every year for the students of X and XII before they appear for the board examination. We bless the outgoing students with the traditional lighting ceremony in order to keep the path of wisdom, knowledge and compassion always illuminated. Both the parents and the children take part in it and seek the Almighty’s blessings to fill them with wisdom and health to face the examination confidently. It creates a positive vibration amidst students.

GRADING DAY & TINY TOT’S DAY

“Graduation day is the beginning of future filled with success and happiness”

Graduation at Vasavi Vidyalaya is a wonderful way to end a memorable kindergarten school year! It is a time to honour the Kids who have spent together in the kindergarten years-Nursery, Jr.Kg, Sr.Kg. We are also happy to graduate our Tiny Tots every year.

Grading day is an awe inspiring day when children walk the ramp adorned in traditional convocation gowns and caps. After 2 years in kindergarten, the little Vasaviangradually grow into butterflies ready to flit away into the primary section.

At the Kindergarten level, Vasavi Vidyalaya offer many activities to the kids, the most popular being the Tiny Tots Day. On this occasion, kids are given an opportunity to perform on stage in front of their parents in grand and pageant manner. The cultural extravaganza put up by each and every child is most important event of the day for the children, teachers and staff.

GANDHI JAYANTI

“Peace is the most powerful weapon of mankind. It takes more courage to take a blow than to give one.” -Mahatma Gandhi.

Every year on 2nd October Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated at Presidium. As the programme begins with a prayer song, a devotional ambience prevails at the school. It is then followed by a meaningful prayer service in the form of ‘Sarva Dharma Prarthana’. After the early morning prayers, a special assembly is conducted in the school where the students learn about the life of Mahatma Gandhi along with the values he stood for. This programme is then continued by cultural events which consist of plays, songs and dance sequences, all of which add to the patriotic passion among the students. Gandhi's favourite bhajan (Hindu devotional song), ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’, is also sung in chorus in his memory.

GURU POOJA

“Prayer is the key to success”

Students of grade X and XII came together, with great zeal to evoke the blessing of the Goddess of knowledge (Gayatri Homam) to have a successful academic and career growth.

‘Padha Pooja’ for the parents of grade X and XII was organized. The students washed the feet of their parents in spiritual tenor and showed their respect and gratitude.

The parents blessed and congratulated the students for their board examinations.

SLC

Students become teachers for a day and explain a concept or give a short demonstration on a topic of their choice.
