Curriculum

Our curriculum has learning goals and subject standards as benchmarks that define what students need to know and can do as a result of theoretical and practical learning. Students are challenged to work hard and teachers ensure that academic rigour is maintained at all times. Our curriculum is self-motivated, progressive and inquiry driven. Teachers and coordinators observe and update the curriculum as per the curriculum review cycle. Teaching methodologies and class content are plannedon a regular basis using a reflective process to improve the learning of all students.

Pre- Primary

LEAD’s pre-primary curriculum is an integrated theme-based curriculum that follows a multi modal approach to ensure holistic development of children. It is benchmarked with NEL Singapore and is in line with NCERT pre-school curriculum as prescribed by NEP 2020.

In pre-primary, we focus on six learning areas:

  • Environment Sciences

  • Language and Literacy

  • Numeracy and logic

  • Motor skills and physical development

  • Aesthetics and creative expression

  • Social and emotional development

All these learning areas are integrated to help the child build strong foundational skills

Primary

LEAD’s primary curriculum for grades 1 to 5, focusses on transitioning students from pure, concrete learning to a blend of concrete and abstract learning.

By the time children enter third grade they are expected to have reasonable personal leadership skills of managing behaviour and listening to instructions. The focus slowly moves towards strengthening your child’s comprehension and writing skills in English.

Multi-modal learning, also help your child's to develop thinking skills and application that makes them ready for the future.

Upper Primary

In middle school, students achieve a robust understanding of concepts across subjects, also get practice and hone their leadership skills. The curriculum is designed backwards from Class 10 so that students are well-prepared by the time they reach High School and are appearing for board exams.

ELGA - Skill And Level-Based Program

Coding and Computational Skills (CCS)

Projects in the CCS curriculum integrate computers with concepts
from real-life and they learn to think logically using algorithms and Build Apps.

Secondary & Higher Secondary

For the classes 9 to 12, we follow the syllabus prescribed by TNSCERT – State Board of Tamilnadu to which it is affiliated. The school offers two science streams for Higher Secondary section – PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) & PCMC (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science) and two commerce streams – ACEC (Accountancy, Commerce, Economics and Computer Applications) & ACEM – (Accountancy, Commerce, Economics and Business Maths). English is a compulsory subject. Tamil/French is an optional subject.

With an eye to facing the board exams, no stone is left unturned. Along with studies, they are mentally hardened and spiritually guided through various programmes and seminars. Academically weak students are given special classes individually with the complete co-operation of the parents.
